I have worked in BIS(DBI Designer) group in oracle..
Now i started consulting in DBI. If i would like to take a challenging postion in Oracle in Business intelligence what would u suggest.

Hi Kittu,
I guess you should increase your expertise on the functional side too if you are a technical oriented. Since there DBI falls under the CPM (Corporate Performance Management) umbrella it makes sense to get familiar with other CPM offerings like Balance score card, EPB, FCH.
Becoming techno-functional can become a great asset in the long run.

Is it? Everything I’m seeing says that BI ‘was’ hot for a couple of years but now users are digesting investments but not actively buying.

Hi Dennis,
Atleast looking at the job market and the way Companies are looking for skilled professionals it looks like it is hot, even some recent Gartner or Merill Lynch survey mentioned that BI is the number 2 priority.
Maybe it is the way for the big companies to out-date the old stuff that clients already bought and present them the new stuff or the same old thing in a new wrap
